Manila Rope

Manila rope is a very durable hemp rope made from natural fibers extracted from Abaka (a type of Philippine plant).

Many of the fibers used to make this rope are collected from the Philippines, which is one of the main producers of Abaca. In addition to the Philippines, Ecuador and Costa Rica also produce this plant for commercial purposes.

The fiber produced by Abaka plant is very strong, therefore the rope produced from it is very durable. Manila rope is in the same row of sisal ropes in terms of durability, although sisal rope is 20% weaker than manila rope.

Manila rope is durable, flexible, resistant to heat, abrasion and UV rays, as well as resistant to seawater salinity.

Its main application is in drilling, sailing, transportation, agriculture, fishing, mountaineering, landscaping and various types of building decorations, etc.
