Sling Wire Rope

Moving and transferring light and heavy loads by crane towers and industrial lifts especially in ports and many petrochemical and steel manufacturing companies are virtually upon using appropriate Slings, which is an inevitable industrial fundamental infrastructure in such companies.

Significantly important Considerations in Sling Structure which is mainly constructed of Wire rope and connections are as below:

Load dimension and measures, form of the load, weight, sensitivity of the moving load, temperature and the environment conditions. As far all those mentioned previously type of the sling wire ropes are quite remarkable.

Generally, wire ropes of 6 *19 that are highly abrasion resistant or 6 * 37 that are basically flexible and fatigue resistant are used. Fiber or steel cores are both applicable. Other structures based on the orders are also available like: 6 * 25, 6 * 36, 8 * 19, 8 * 36 and etc,.

Whether the slings are galvanized or not account for the order and the environment conditions. Normal Sling wires’ grade is 1770 , however due to the order specifications, 2160 and 1960 are available to produce.

EN13414-1 is a standard that is highly considered while manufacturing the final product. Regarding this standard, you will be able to opt the sling type due to the usage.

In most of the countries, wire ropes are put on top of each other and pressing process is then followed while producing sling. During this step, the length of the wire rope or the sling (now could be called) is pretty notable and is called applicable length. Diameter is another important parameter to consider the applicable length since each wire diameter contains a particular calculation for the adding length while being pressed.

Different types of Slings are categorized due to the application in lifting industry and can be called as:

2. Two leg, 2 Leg

3. Three leg. 3 Leg

4. Four Leg, 4 Leg and so on.
